Sugar Cookies

1 c butter, room temperature
1 c sugar
1 1/2 t vanilla
1 egg
1 t water
3 c flour
1 1/2 t baking powder
1/4 t salt

Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla.
Add egg and water. Beat until light and fluffy.
Sift dry ingredients together. Blend dry mixture into creamed mixture.
Divide dough in half. Wrap each half in plastic wrap and chill for one hour.
Roll out dough, cut into shapes.
Bake at 375* for 6-8 minutes. Remove from oven before edges turn brown.

Frosting
Start with 2 c powdered sugar. Add 1 t vanilla and 1 T melted butter. Stir in teaspoons of milk one at a time until you reach desired consistency.
