English Toffee

Melt 1 cup butter with 1 cup sugar. Boil stirring constantly until it is the color of a brown paper bag. Remove from heat and stir in 1 t vanilla. Pour onto greased pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and spread. Top with crushed nuts.
